FOUR MINUTES AND THIRTY-EIGHT SECONDS

That is the length of Anne Hathaway’s heartbreaking, tear inducing performance of Les Miserables’ I dreamed a dream.  This amount of time was all it took for Anne to convince all who mattered, that she deserved all the awards in her category for the 2013 award season.  And this is the amount of time it took her to earn “the lovely blunt object" that she will "forevermore use as a weapon against self doubt". Also, known to the rest of us as, the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.  Anne Hathaway is certifiably the new IT girl as a result of a performance that lasted all of four minutes and thirty seconds.  Madonna and J.T were right; it only takes four minutes (to save the change your world).

So for this New Year, here is to your four minutes. Let’s hope if and when it does comes around, you will be sufficiently prepared. Happy 2013!

BACK... BACK... BACK... AND FORTH...

Back to straight hair and back to 90s, early SATC, inspired wear. Hope you enjoy
My very own Red Riding Hood, I mean Cape-- vintage

And my Cavalli shoes said, "My, what big feet you have", (The better to stump you with);
Alexander Wang dress: "My, what a big butt you have", ("Better to... fine! fine! fine! I know I'm reaching in this instance, a J LO I am not")
Love the delicious cut out in the back of this dress though

Last words from the pancakes I had during brunch: "My, what big teeth you have", ("The better to eat you with!")

XOXO
Until next time, hope you all have a wonderful week

FOX TALES

In 1911, Ruth Manning, author of the animal centered fairy tale collection, Fox Tales, married English Artist, George Sanders; the couple both changed their names to Manning-Sanders.  This pro-feminist, pioneer move, happened in 1911.
Yes... at this very moment, I am screaming at my husband in an incredulous tone, "they did it in 1911!".  You probably guessed where I am going with this.  A hundred plus years later, my husband refuses to get on the bandwagon and change his name ala the Manning-Sanders. And he isn't the only one.  I have yet to meet a man in my circle that will agree to this "all is equal, let's use both our names" name change. Gotta love them Southern boys?
