FOUR MINUTES AND THIRTY-EIGHT SECONDS

That is the length of Anne Hathaway’s heartbreaking, tear inducing performance of Les Miserables’ I dreamed a dream.  This amount of time was all it took for Anne to convince all who mattered, that she deserved all the awards in her category for the 2013 award season.  And this is the amount of time it took her to earn “the lovely blunt object" that she will "forevermore use as a weapon against self doubt". Also, known to the rest of us as, the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress.  Anne Hathaway is certifiably the new IT girl as a result of a performance that lasted all of four minutes and thirty seconds.  Madonna and J.T were right; it only takes four minutes (to save the change your world).

So for this New Year, here is to your four minutes. Let’s hope if and when it does comes around, you will be sufficiently prepared. Happy 2013!

BACK... BACK... BACK... AND FORTH...

Back to straight hair and back to 90s, early SATC, inspired wear. Hope you enjoy
My very own Red Riding Hood, I mean Cape-- vintage

And my Cavalli shoes said, "My, what big feet you have", (The better to stump you with);
Alexander Wang dress: "My, what a big butt you have", ("Better to... fine! fine! fine! I know I'm reaching in this instance, a J LO I am not")
Love the delicious cut out in the back of this dress though

Last words from the pancakes I had during brunch: "My, what big teeth you have", ("The better to eat you with!")

XOXO
Until next time, hope you all have a wonderful week

FOX TALES

In 1911, Ruth Manning, author of the animal centered fairy tale collection, Fox Tales, married English Artist, George Sanders; the couple both changed their names to Manning-Sanders.  This pro-feminist, pioneer move, happened in 1911.
Yes... at this very moment, I am screaming at my husband in an incredulous tone, "they did it in 1911!".  You probably guessed where I am going with this.  A hundred plus years later, my husband refuses to get on the bandwagon and change his name ala the Manning-Sanders. And he isn't the only one.  I have yet to meet a man in my circle that will agree to this "all is equal, let's use both our names" name change. Gotta love them Southern boys?

Top: Nanette Lepore

SWEET NOTHING

So I put my faith in something unknown/ I'm living on such sweet nothing

Christmas candy specially ordered by my Hubby for his parents. Every piece of chocolate is hand painted! They are from Mariebelle.

But I'm tired of hope with nothing to hold/ I'm living on such sweet nothing

And it's hard to learn/ And it's hard to love/ When you're giving me such sweet nothing

Sweet nothing/Sweet Sweet nothing
You're giving me such sweet nothing

Lyrics by Calvin Harris, performed by Florence Welch
Makers of the sweet decadent clothes I am wearing are as follows:
Top-Equipment
Skirt- J Crew pink sparkly pencil skirt
Flesh colored pumps by Manolo Blahnik
Earrings- J Crew

In case you are wondering why I am posting another pic so soon, I thought I will try to redeem myself from my prior week's laziness.

Happy Holidays!!!!

I apologize for the lack of posts but I came down with a mean case of blogger's block while on vacation. I promise to do better next year  (resolution# 199,999,999,999,999) but in the mean time, greetings from Crystal Mountain, WA.  This is what I have been up to...

The fam and I; it seems my mother in law was playing hide and seek with the camera.  As cunning as she is, she was never found.
On the ski lift

Here I go, I tried to make a turn but instead landed on my butt. My butt continuously paid homage to the ice god during this activity.  I am still in pain.

Christmas trees en route to the mountain.

DALLAS...MY INSPIRATION

Let's hope the Ewings are at least tickled

Vintage coat dress by Jacqueline de Ribes. I snagged this fabulous 80s number at a store called Cheeky Vintage, located in Houston. I am seriously in love with this store, you walk in and you feel like you stepped into Willy Wonka the Fashion Factory!
Jewels: Earrings from J-Crew ala Net-a-Porter, broach from a jewelry store in Korea town (NYC)

I straightened my hair for date night. And like Cinderella's fairy tale night, it went back to Brillo pad when the clock striked workout time...
XOXO
