Another Repeat!

I am not quite sure about you all, but I usually live in variations of the same outfit for about a month.  I was stuck in long silk dresses for the first part of the summer but got over it when I bought this jacket/blouse. You just cannot go wrong with fringe...

Roberto Cavalli top and jeans, Gucci sandals, vintage bag, ring from This N That, bracelet from Ylang Ylang.

On a side note, why is it that all the successful natural hair bloggers out on you tube have type 3 hair (ummm, use google to find out what that means.  There should already be a natural hair term page on wikepedia by now, don't you think )?  I need a blogger whose hair naturally resembles and feels like a brillo pad. Or as Lil Wayne calls it, Nigerian tough. Whatever that person's says, I will trust.
XOXO

  2. I am a faithful reader of your blog and love it. But just incase you do not know, the term half-caste is a derogatory term...I am Nigerian and know we use it a lot but I found out very recently about it being a derogatory term and wanted you to know:)

    1. Oh good God! I definitely did not know. Will do some research on that this afternoon and update post. Thanks a bunch for bringing it to my attention. Just out of curiosity, do you know of another word I can use in its place that is more appropriate?

  3. that okay...I did not find out till a few months ago, and most of the terms we use are:) I think referring to the hair by type is better, type 3 hair and yours will be more of a type 4.

  6. I'm actually Nigerian (with Nigerian tough) hair and I found that these two products soften & moisturize my hair: Shea Moisture curl and shine shampoo, and the curling souflee. I try to do an intense hair conditioning every two weeks.

  7. Not to take away from this amazing post highlighting your long Ghanian hair but when did the term half caste become derogatory? I'm Nigerian too and people's faces light up at the mention of "half-cast". Unless of course the said half-casts do not find the term endearing. Back to you Ms. Long-hair-don't-care...I saw someone used care free curl spray on their hair to add daily moisture to her afro, she is Nigerian too, so I tried it and it worked. It's very cheap and worth a try. I also used S curl "no drip" activator curl and that was nice, because it doesn't leave any residue on the clothing. A wonderful website is Black Girl Long Hair...they feature various people with natural hair and post info on their regimen.

    1. I am going to have to siphon money from my monthly clothing allowance into a newly formed hair fund. I love all the ideas you suggested and I'm now a stalker of the site, black girl long hair. Shall definitely let you know how the products you mentioned work on my hair.
