I’m starting to think the grass just might be greener on the other side – just not quite sure what the currency is for getting to the other side.

Let’s just say, I understand old unmarried women a lot better these days. You know… the ones that after one long marriage never remarries and live to be “old maids”. In my case, I think I am just too selfish to be in charge of always managing my feelings and someone else’s feelings-- With marriage you are in it together at all times. If a member of the team is happy about something, then you are both happy and if not, you are both sad. There is no way one can have a dance-off with themselves in their bedroom when the other is laying on the couch emotionally sinking.

I find it funny that in these modern relationship times, when we are allowed all the choices in the world—single, married, live in, common law, hook ups, long distance, separate living quarters, Brad and Jen type 7 year max— we can say things such as “one day at a time” in association with being in a long term relationship and it makes total sense.
I prefer such statement to be in regard to say… my work life, getting rid of stomach fat or terminal illness but alas…

Cracking up!! But yes… being with someone is supposed to be the dessert to life’s starchy carbohydrates now that we have all agreed that marriage isn’t mandatory. So why do we tend to go all Mother Theresa and start preaching “the stick to it religion” when it comes to relationship matters?

You (maybe) and I may have decided that marriage isn’t “mandatory”…but rest assured, the rest of the women in the world are not on that bandwagon.

As for the women in the world, I don’t get it. It will be nice to have someone, I get that. But if the “someones” out there are just not cutting it, why bother?
Of course the reason why people are no longer cutting it is because majority of us are more demanding in relationships than our parents and so forth.
