WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS?

I've been watching a lot of movies from the 60s recently and my take away has been the fashion color palettes used when women got dressed up--wearing the same color, beginning with a woman's hat all the way down to her shoes.  I guess my feeling of needing to dress matchy mathcy these past couple of months has been my response to bucking the pattern on pattern/color blocking that has infected the fashion world for the past couple of years.
